thin walls empty minibar
the walls seemed quite thin (i could hear my neighbors snoring!). also, the promised city view from my 'superior double room' was mostly of an adjacent building's brick wall. not exactly the amazing panorama advertised, was it? and the minibar was about as stocked as my bank account after a vacation, disappointingly empty. these issues were a bit of a letdown.

solid stay near major attractions

helpful staff great location
the staff was friendly and helpful. i received clear explanations about local attractions and dining options. the location made it easy to explore major sites on foot and i appreciated the complimentary umbrellas during rain. the bathroom was clean with hot water.
the room's air conditioning was loud, difficult to sleep. nobody addressed it quickly.

Acceptable Stay but Room for Improvement

low water pressure clogged shower
I noticed the shower had very little water pressure. It made rinsing difficult. The minibar also didn't cool properly. I asked someone to check the shower drain because it was clogged, but no one fixed it. There were several power outages, no hot water for showers..

Excellent Location and Service

easy access warm welcome fluent english
I stayed near Sultan Ahmet with easy access to Sofia Hagia and the Blue mosque. The hotel sat on a narrow cobbled street among turkish eateries. farooq, the manager, offered a warm welcome. He speaks fluent english. I appreciated his guidance and assistance even after my stay when i missed my connection.
The wallpaper in my room showed some peeling, and the bed felt quite hard. The water pressure in the shower was noticeably low. Although the staff was informed, the in-room safe remained unlocked throughout my stay.
